Ways To Make Your Day A Little More #NerdPositive: January 20th, 2017

With the strange political climate causing many to feel more negative than usual, no matter what political preference, I thought today would be the perfect opportunity to start this new feature. “Ways To Make Your Day More #NerdPositive” is exactly what it sounds like, other than being weekly instead of daily. It will feature suggestions such as supporting and watching new movies and shows, playing new or discounted video games, reading new comics & books, etc. Here are some ways you can make today a little more #NerdPositive. You can expect to see one every Friday!

Watch Voltron: Legendary Defender Season 2 on Netflix

I didn’t enjoy the first season of this Netflix animated series as much as I had hoped to. However, I did find it to be more entertaining than the more recent A Series of Unfortunate Events. My problem with the first season of the new Voltron was I felt that it’s Y7 rating held it back from being the show it could be. The Legend of Korra was PG and as soon as new episodes were only airing online, I felt it was going all out. Being on Netflix, I expected Voltron: Legendary Defender to do the same. Maybe I’ll like this second season better. Despite it’s flaws, it’s an entertaining series and anyone browsing Netflix today for something to watch should give it a try.

Play Gravity Rush 2 or Power Rangers Mega Battle

The long awaited sequel to the PlayStation Vita game and it’s PlayStation 4 remaster is finally here, boasting a bigger world and new gravity shifting powers, with the promise of free DLC in March. Sometimes it’s just nice to float around without a care in the world. You can see my thoughts on the demo here

Earlier this week we got a new Power Rangers beat ’em up for PS4 and Xbox One (Digital Only) that, despite the odd animation style, still carries on the spirit of those which were on the Super Nintendo. If you buy it before January 31st you get playable rangers from both season 1 and 2 of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, before the season 2 rangers become separate DLC. This is the perfect game to play with another person, or even up to three other people, and is sure to be a good time.

Play games from today’s PSN Flash Sale

If you’re a gamer on a budget, or have no interest in Gravity Rush 2, then I suggest taking a look at what today’s PlayStation Network Flash Sale has to offer, on PS4, PS Vita, and PS3. Deals are around 5 bucks or less and on PS4 include titles like Telltale’s underrated game The Wolf Among Us, Tomb Raider (reboot) Definitive Edition, Sleeping Dogs, and Injustice: Ultimate Edition. Some PS2 on PS4 games are on sale as well including notable titles such as Psychonauts, Rogue Galaxy, and Dark Cloud 2. On PS Vita some great games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Persona 3 Portable, and Breath of Fire IV are on sale. On PS3, some notable discounted titles include Devil May Cry HD Collection, Okami HD, and Shadow of the Colossus, among others. I suggest at least checking the sale out if you have any of the mentioned PlayStation consoles.

Read Justice League/Power Rangers

It has definitely been an interesting week for Power Rangers. If you’re more of a reader, then here’s something to check out. The first issue of this unexpected crossover was released this past Wednesday, with 7 different variant covers. The new Power Rangers comics are modernized to the current time rather than being stuck in the early 90’s, and have been surprisingly well written. So far, this crossover seems to be no different. I  recommend reading this first issue of the crossover as well as the first volume of the new Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers comic.

That’s all for this week!
